The method of separating
and refining different hydrocarbon phases
from pyrolysis oil

We do not use distillery tower in our system, because this system requires too much energy and it does not have enough control over separated hydrocarbons. Our system minimizes the usage of energy and has enough control over separated phases. For example, with this system we can only separate CH5 without mixing CH4 and CH6.

In this system, we enter a small amount of pyrolysis oil in the machinery. There is a vacuum inside the machinery’s chamber. The level of vacuum and heat is totally under control, so only the planned phase will be separated from pyrolysis oil and the rest of materials enter the second section of the machinery. The second and third section of the machinery has the same technology as the first unit that was explained above. So at the exit part we will have 5 different phases.

Entrance of separator chamber

Different separated phases

Gas phase CH-CH4
Light hydrocarbons CH4-CH6
Medium hydrocarbons CH6-CH9
Heavy hydrocarbons above CH9
Slush

Refinery of the products mentioned above:

1- Gas phase:
It enters air washer room and enters reactor from the exhaust
and side product of the air washer room enters filtration
system.
2- Light hydrocarbons:
This product mixes with carbon active and is under influence of
heavy ultrasonic frequency and enters filtration system
(mercaptan out).
3- Medium hydrocarbons:
The existing electro carbons in this phase, produce oxygen and
hydrogen.
The produces oxygen enters ozone generator and the produces
ozone mixes with medium hydrocarbon and cause the
oxidation of products.
In this level, the existing sulfur, converts into trioxide sulfur.
Hydrogen injects into this product and enters filtration system
which causes minimizing the sulfur in hydrocarbon.
4- Heavy hydrocarbons:
First, the Hydrocarbon of this phase gets acid washed, then
gets caustic washed and passes various settlers, gets dried and
lastly gets decolored.

Settler and ultrasound system

5- Slush:
The gained slushes enter filtration press system and gets shape
into small blocks which can be used as solid fuel.
